Carrying out the practical:

Take a sample from the tonsils or from the throat of a colleague using a sterile swab. Make sure that the swab does not touch other areas that have normal flora (skin, teeth, tongue, etc.).

Touch the tonsils or the throat gently a few times with the swab and then spread the sample on the surface of a blood agar plate.

Put the plates in the incubator at 37ºC for 24h. The growth that appears and the type of  hemolysis: α, β, γ are observed.
